CNA in Nursing Homes
CNA acts as the caregivers of the elderly people in a nursing home. They are the ones who provide the needs of the elderly and they have different duties and responsibilities which is different from a registered or licensed nurse. ¾ Check the vital signs of the patients this involves the temperature, high blood pressure, pulse rate and respiration rate.
¾ Take care of the personal needs of the elderly. Help them in bathing, cutting nails, and shaving hairs.
¾ Attend to the patients' food, bringing the patient the food, and in feeding them.
¾ Arrange the patients' beds and keeping the area or facility where the patient is clean, neat and tidy.
¾ Giving the patients its medicine and vitamins.
¾ Observe the patient and report any health issues to the registered nurse to avoid serious health conflicts.
